"Public-private hybrid networks provide a clear point-of-difference for MNOs, yet only a few operators are actively exploring the use of them."
Most telecoms operators have struggled to differentiate their private networks offers from the large number of competitors (equipment vendors, systems integrators (SIs), specialist providers and others).1 They need to do more to promote their differentiators showcasing how they provide value to the customer.
Public-private hybrid networks provide a clear point-of-difference for mobile network operators (MNOs), yet only a few operators are actively exploring the use of them. MNOs alone control public cellular networks and should explore hybrid network deployments to help them stand out from competitors. Operators should highlight roaming capabilities and the potential cost savings from using hybrid networks compared to dedicated networks, which will help widen operators’ addressable market and carve out a clear objective for MNOs in the private networks market.
