National Judicial Staff Services of Papua New Guinea (NJSS) is undertaking the construction of National Courts Complex project at Waigani, a suburb of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The project involves the construction of a court complex. It includes the construction of 14 new court rooms, judges chambers, court registry, an administration office facility and parking facilities, the site landscaping and the refurbishment of the existing supreme and national court building and the installation of safety systems.

Point Project Management has been appointed as the PMC contractor; PTW architect and Alexander & Lloyd Group as the architects; Peddle Thorp Architects and James Cubitt Architects (JCA) as the principal design consultants; and Meinhardt as the structural and civil engineer for the project.

In February 2014, Aurecon was appointed as the consulting engineer for the project. The scope of the contract covers all building services including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fire, and ESD design.

Rhodes and China Railway Construction Engineering has been appointed as a construction contractor, and RPS as a management contractor.

In January 2015, construction works commenced and scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019.

The project involves the construction of a court complex at Waigani, a suburb of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The US$190 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of 15 new court rooms

2. Construction of judges chambers

3. Construction of a court registry

4. Construction of a three story administration office facility

5. Construction of parking facilities

6. Refurbishment of the existing supreme and national court building
