Etablissement de la Ville Nouvelle de Hassi Messaoud (EVNH) is undertaking the construction of a mixed-use complex at Hassi Messaoud, Ouargla Province, Algeria.

The project involves the construction of a new city on 4,483 ha area. It includes the construction of 2,000 dwellings, training, research and development centres, academic institutions, waste water treatment plant, landfill centre, sport and youth facilities, infrastructure, equipment and associated facilities, installation of elevators and safety systems and parking facilities.

EVNH has secured US$775 million for engineering studies from government authorities.

Earlier, Losis, Dar Al Handasah (Shair & Partners) and SNC Lavalin Group Inc were appointed as the consultant and SNC Lavalin Group Inc to manage the construction. However, EVNH has re-issued the tenders for the design contract in May 2011.

In August 2012, Algerian-Korean consortium Dongmyeong-Saman-Won-Kun BEREG has been appointed as planning consultant.

On June 27, 2013, EVNH secured planning approvals from the government.

In July 2013, a joint venture of Cosider Groupe SpA, Societe Nationale de Genie Civil et Batiment (GCB) and Societe De Travaux D Electrification Spa (Kahrif) was appointed as main contractor for infrastructure phase.

In October 2014, construction works for first plant protection band completed.

In December 2017, construction works for infrastructure phase commenced.

Construction works are underway and scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018.
