Syndicat Mixte de Production d'Eau Potable du Granvillais et de l'Avranchin (SMPEPGA) is undertaking the development of drinking water facilities at Granville and Avranches communes of France.

The project involves the construction of two drinking water production units in Granville and Avranches respectively, an interconnection between two production units, 16.7km water canals, water distribution facilities, a reservoir at Sartilly, access roads and administrative buildings and the installation of pipelines and other related equipment.

The plant in Granville will have the capacity of 6,500m3 water per day in 20 hours and the plant in Avranches will have the initial capacity of 7,500m3 water per day in 20 hours and 8,400m3 water per day.

The project management contract was awarded to Cabinet Bourgois. The scope of the contract covers the design, engineering and technical services.

In September 2014, the technical control services contract was awarded to Dekra Industrial and the topographical works contract was awarded to Cabinet Lallouet.

In September 2014, the preliminary study activities completed.

In July 2016, the EPC contract has been awarded to Cegelec, Barenton SA, Groupe Sturno and Sogéa Nord Ouest T. P.

A public inquiry held from 20 July 2016 to 27 August 2016.

On October 25, 2016, the construction activities were commenced.

Construction activities are underway and expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The project involves the construction of drinking water facilities at Granville and Avranches communes of France.

The US$35 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a drinking water production unit at Granville with a 6,500m3 water per day in 20 hours

2. Construction of a drinking water production unit at Avranches with a 7,500m3 water per day in 20 hours

3. Construction of an interconnection with 16.7km canals

4. Construction of a reservoir at Sartilly

5. Construction of access roads

6. Construction of administrative buildings

7. Installation of water pipelines

8. Installation of related equipment
