Summary
Eni S.P.A. in partnership with Sonangol SSI (a joint affiliate of Sinopec and Sonangol), Statoil, Falcon Oil Angola Investimentos and Total is planning to develop west hub offshore oilfield at Block 15/06, Kwanza Basin, Angola.

The project involves the development of an oil field, the drilling of rigs and wells, the laying of pipelines and the installation of FPSO's, an external turret mooring, subsea tie-back systems, control valves and sub-sea structures.

The project will be developed in two phases. The first phase of the West Hub field (Sangos, Mpungi, Cinguvu) foresees the drilling of 21 subsea wells (12 productions and 9 injections) connected to an FPSO vessel with a capacity of 100,000 barrels/day (bpd).

The second phase includes the drilling the Ochigufu and Vandumbu well at Block 15/06. In May 2008, Eni commenced exploratory drilling of Sangos 1 well to a total depth of 3,343m in Block 15/06, located approximately 350 kilometers north of Luanda offshore Angola.

The well confirmed a significant presence of more than 30º API gravity oil. In September 2008, Eni commenced exploratory drilling of Ngoma-1 well to a total depth of 3,383m in Block 15/06. In February 2010, Eni commenced exploratory drilling of Cinguvu-1 well to a total depth of 1,400m in Block 15/06.

Technip is responsible for Engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the rigid and flexible flowlines, risers and umbilicals for the first phase of the project.

In October 2012, Aker Solutions won the contract of engineering, procurement, fabrication and supply of 21 miles of static and dynamic steel tube umbilicals, as well as the associated equipment and peripherals. Construction activity for the first phase commenced in April 2011.

In September 2014, Eni commenced exploratory drilling of Ochigufu well to a total depth of 1,337m in Block 15/06.

In November 2014, construction works on the first phase completed and started operation in April 2015.

Construction works are underway to connect the last two oilfields, Ochigufu and Vandumbu in the west hub oil field to the FPSO.

Saipem has signed a contract with Eni Angola S.p.A. The contract extended the scope of work for the development of the Vandumbu field in Block 15/06. The additional activities will be carried out by the Offshore E&C division and encompass the engineering, procurement, construction and installation required for the development of the Vandumbu subseea field at deepwater depths ranging from 1300 to 1500 metres.

The project includes the realization of two production pipelines made of special material, and the laying of umbilicals and service lines of various diameters (Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers & Flowlines - SURF).
