Union Gas Ltd (UGL) is undertaking the construction of a pipeline from Coniston to Walden in Canada.

The project involves the replacement of 20km existing 10-inch diameter pipeline with 12-inch diameter pipeline. It will be developed in two sections.

The first section is located between the existing Union Gas Coniston and Frood Road Stations, and the second between the Union Gas Azilda and Walden Stations.

The project includes the construction of pumping stations, metering systems and related facilities, the laying of pipelines, and the installation of safety systems.

AECOM Canada Ltd has been appointed to prepare an environmental report to assess any potential environmental and socio-economic effects that may result from the project.

On December 1, 2016, UGL and AECOM Canada Ltd held a public information session to discuss the Environmental Study process.

In April 2017, Environmental Study completed.

In May 2017, the Project application submitted to Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

On September 29, 2017, UGL has secured planning approvals from Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

UGL's construction partner, Aecon Utilities, a division of Aecon Group Inc, will be responsible for the construction works.

Construction is expected to commence in May 2018 and slated to be completed by November 2018.

The project involves the construction of a 20km, 12-inch diameter pipeline from Coniston to Walden in Ontario, Canada.

The US$58 million project includes the following:
