Goseong Green Power Co. Ltd (GGP) is undertaking the construction of a coal-fired power plant in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.

The project involves the construction of Two 1,040MW coal-fired power plants. It comprises of two units with a capacity of 1050MW each.

It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, raw water storage tanks and a coal storage unit, the installation of supercritical circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boilers, steam turbines and generators, and the laying of water transmission pipelines and transmission lines.

On April 17, 2014, SK Gas board of directors approved a plan to buy 19% stake in GGP at the cost of US$166 million.

On October 10, 2014, KEPCO Engineering & Contruction Company signed a contract to provide architect and engineering services. As part of the contract, KEPCO E&C is to carry out conceptual design for preparatory stage, basic and detailed design for preconstruction stage,and basic and detailed design for construction stage, and to provide on-site technical support .

On December 7, 2015, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a contract to supply the main equipment, including boilers and turbines.

On August 31, 2016, Samho Development has signed an construction contract agreement with SK Engineering & Construction .

The construction works are expected to be completed for unit one in October 2020 and for unit two in April 2021 respectively.
