AMP Capital (AMP) plans to undertake the Quay Quarter development in New South Wales, Australia.

The project involves the construction of a 102,000m2, 50-story mixed-use tower at 50 Bridge Street which is known as Quay Quarter Tower, three new luxury low-rise buildings comprises 106 apartments at 18 Loftus Street, 8 Loftus Street and 15 Young Street in Loftus Lane and redevelopment of 33 Alfred Street headquarters building.

The redevelopment include refreshing the building's façade as well as modernizing its services and interior while maintaining its heritage characteristics and reinstating lost building features. There will also be increased activation of the street-level frontages.

It also includes the construction of Hinchcliffe house, meetings rooms, conference halls, lobbies, restaurants, hotel, retail space, a park and parking facilities, public space and the installation of elevators and safety systems.

In December 2012, AMP submitted an application request to the City of Sydney Council.

In June 2013, the council considered the application.

In June 2014, AMP secured planning approval from the council.

In July 2014, AMP conducted a design competition for architects. The six participating firms were Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT), Ingenhoven + Architects, 3XN Architects, Morphosis MVRDV and Sanna.

In September 2014, 3XN Architects appointed as an architect for 50 Bridge Street tower.

In July 2015, AMP submitted the Stage 2 Development Application (DA) to the Sydney City Council.

In November 2015, the project secured Stage 2 DA approval from the Sydney City Council.

In December 2015, the City of Sydney granted final development approval for the new Quay Quarter Tower.

BVN Architecture; Johnson Pilton Walker Pty Ltd; Carterwilliamson Architects have been appointed as architects, Arup as a Structural engineer, Urbis Pty Ltd as Planning Consultant and Aspect Studios as landscape architect.

SJB Architects has been appointed as Architect for 15 Young Street, Silvester Fuller for 18 Loftus Street and Make Architecture for 8 Loftus Street.

In February 2017, Tom Dixon and Design Research Studio were appointed as interior designers for 50 Bridge Street tower.

In December 2017, AMP secured planning approval from the city council for the redevelopment of 33 Alfred Street headquarters building.

In January 2018, AMP appointed Richard Crookes Constructions (RCC) as the construction contractor for three luxury low-rise residential buildings at Loftus Lane.

Construction work on residential buildings at Loftus Lane to commence in the end of first quarter of 2018 and expected to take three years to complete.

A builder is yet to be appointed on Quay Quarter Tower, construction work on Quay Quarter Tower to commence in 2018 and to be completed in 2021.
