Summary
Tullow Petroleum (Mauritania) Pty Ltd a subsidiary of Tullow Oil plc (TLW) and its partners Premier Oil (Premier), Kufpec and Petronas, is planning to undertake the construction of Banda Gas Field Development project in Mauritania.

The project involves the development of a gas field. It includes the construction of an onshore gas processing facility with 65 million cubic feet per day (1,840,595 cubic meters per day) capacity and their connection via a sub-sea pipeline. The processing facility will be located at approximately 9km to the north of the city of Nouakchott.

In 2011, Tullow and its partners Premier Oil, Kufpec and Petronas, signed a new production sharing contract (PSC) C-10 with the Mauritanian Government to replace the previous PSC Area A and Area B and to give Tullow the operatorship with 66.83% of the working interests in the project.

In 2012, Houston-based engineering company Xodus Group (Xodus) has been appointed as the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contractor to undertake design works.

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) and FEED works were completed in the second quarter of 2013.

In February 2014, TLW received a government approval for the development of the project. Bids are under evaluation for the subsea production system, umbilical, pipeline, and process plant.

The project will be funded by Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency and World Bank.

There has been no significant progress was made on the Banda development project, due capital budget funding was not be allocated to Banda in 2015.

TLW plans to acquire Block C-10, after conducting 3D seismic survey, which is expected in the third quarter of 2017.

Scope
The project involves development of a gas field approximately 80km from the coast of Mauritania.

The US$1,200 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of onshore gas processing facility with 60 MCFD capacity

2. Construction of wellhead platform

3. Construction of a 5.6km onshore pipeline to the gas plant

4. Installation of safety system

5. Installation of machinery and equipment

6. Laying of 75km, 10inch gas export pipeline
