Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO) in joint venture with Pioneer Transmission LLC (Pioneer) is constructing a transmission line form Greentown substation to Rockport station, Indiana, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 467km transmission line of 765kV from Duke Energy's Greentown substation near Kokomo to American Electric Power's Rockport station near Evansville. It will be developed in two segments.

The first segment involves the construction of 113km transmission lines of 765kV from Greentown station west to Reynolds station just north of Lafayette and the second segment involves the construction of 354km transmission line of 765kV further connected to Rockport station.

The first and second segments will be developed by Pioneer.

The project received Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approvals in 2009.

Pioneer Transmission applied for utility status in 2011 for Indiana.

Pioneer selected the final route for the project and sent letters to those affected by the route in the third quarter of 2014.

In May 2016, construction works commenced on first segment and expected to complete by the second quarter of 2018.

Pre-design activities on the second segment are underway.
